Specialist Care for Hayes Residents

Hayes' diverse, family-oriented community has specific specialist needs. Multicultural families often discover colorimetry through bilingual children's reading difficulties. The area's growing professional population encounters dry eye from screen-intensive work. And children's myopia is rising across Hayes schools. Eyewise provides the specialist response that these issues require.

For specialist eye care, Hayes residents turn to Eyewise. We provide dedicated services addressing real issues faced by the local community.

Dry Eye Clinic: Many Hayes residents, particularly those commuting to offices in London or working on screens at home, suffer from persistent dry, gritty, or watery eyes. Our specialist clinic goes beyond recommending drops. We investigate the specific cause of your dry eye, meibomian gland dysfunction, inflammation, environmental triggers, and create a targeted treatment programme that addresses the root problem.

Colorimetry: In Hayes' multicultural community, children learning in a second language sometimes struggle with reading for reasons beyond language, visual stress can compound the difficulty. Our Intuitive Colorimeter assessment, available for children and adults, identifies whether precision-tinted lenses would reduce visual discomfort. We've helped children from Minet, Hayes Park, Dr Triplett's, and other local schools read with new confidence.

EyeDream & Myopia Control: For Hayes children whose short-sightedness increases year after year, waiting is not the answer. EyeDream overnight lenses gently reshape the cornea while your child sleeps, providing clear daytime vision and, importantly, slowing the rate of myopia progression. For adults, EyeDream offers glasses-free days without surgical intervention.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is colorimetry and how do I know if I need it?

Colorimetry is a specialist assessment for visual stress, a condition where the brain struggles to process certain visual patterns, particularly text. Symptoms include words appearing to move, blur, or shimmer on the page, headaches when reading, losing your place frequently, and eye strain. If you or your child experiences any of these, a colorimetry assessment can determine whether precision-tinted lenses would help.

How does EyeDream work?

EyeDream uses specially designed gas-permeable contact lenses worn only while you sleep. Overnight, they gently reshape the front surface of your eye (the cornea) so that when you remove the lenses in the morning, you can see clearly all day without glasses or daytime contact lenses. The effect is temporary and fully reversible. EyeDream also helps slow the progression of short-sightedness in children.

My child attends a school in Hayes and is bilingual, could colorimetry still help with their reading?

Yes. Visual stress is a neurological condition unrelated to language ability. If your child shows signs like words moving or blurring on the page, headaches when reading, or losing their place frequently, in any language, colorimetry may help. We assess the visual system independently of language skills.
