Specialist Care for Ruislip Residents

Ruislip's strong family community generates significant demand for specialist eye care, particularly colorimetry and myopia management for school-age children. Active residents who enjoy Ruislip Lido, the Nature Reserve, and local sports also benefit from EyeDream and dry eye management. We're easily reached from Ruislip Manor (one stop) or Ruislip station (two stops).

When Ruislip residents need specialist eye care, Eyewise provides the clinics that meet that need, each backed by advanced equipment and focused clinical training.

Dry Eye Clinic: Central heating in Ruislip's homes during winter, hay fever season around the Nature Reserve, and long screen-hours create a perfect storm for dry eye. Our clinic identifies the specific type, whether it's meibomian gland dysfunction, evaporative, or aqueous-deficient, and creates a treatment plan that goes far beyond artificial tears.

Colorimetry: Children from Ruislip Gardens Primary, Sacred Heart, Ruislip High, and Bishop Ramsey are among our regular colorimetry patients. Visual stress can masquerade as dyslexia, ADHD, or simple reluctance to read. Our Intuitive Colorimeter pinpoints the exact colour that calms the visual system, and precision-tinted lenses prescribed from that assessment can unlock a child's reading potential.

EyeDream: Ruislip families with active, sporty children love EyeDream. Overnight lenses provide clear daytime vision for swimming at the Lido, football in the park, and every school activity, all without glasses or daytime contacts. For children with progressing myopia, EyeDream simultaneously slows the worsening of their prescription.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is colorimetry and how do I know if I need it?

Colorimetry is a specialist assessment for visual stress, a condition where the brain struggles to process certain visual patterns, particularly text. Symptoms include words appearing to move, blur, or shimmer on the page, headaches when reading, losing your place frequently, and eye strain. If you or your child experiences any of these, a colorimetry assessment can determine whether precision-tinted lenses would help.

How does EyeDream work?

EyeDream uses specially designed gas-permeable contact lenses worn only while you sleep. Overnight, they gently reshape the front surface of your eye (the cornea) so that when you remove the lenses in the morning, you can see clearly all day without glasses or daytime contact lenses. The effect is temporary and fully reversible. EyeDream also helps slow the progression of short-sightedness in children.

My child plays sports at Ruislip Lido, would EyeDream be a good option?

EyeDream is ideal for active children. The lenses are worn only at night, so during the day your child has clear natural vision for swimming, football, cricket, and every other activity without worrying about glasses or contact lenses. We'd be happy to assess whether your child is a suitable candidate.
